Project description

1 Description

Our project aims to reduce carbon emissions from industrial entities by capturing flue stack carbon dioxide and converting it to useful products. We co-locate a chemical facility next to the industrial facility and this chemical facility produces a variety of products which make the entire process economically profitable. The chemical facility is energy self sufficient, where the energy for the process comes from waste agricultural material. The overall process is carbon negative.

2 Innovation

The core technology is the process that uses biomass as a source of renewable carbon and renewable energy for the CO2 conversion and uses natural gas as a source of renewable hydrogen and sequesterable carbon.  The sum total of product gases is synthesis gas which is converted to methanol in gas-to-liquids reactor.  Biomass is source of biochar, and the CO2 conversion reaction produces activated carbon, while the methane decomposition produces an industrial carbon. This technology is patent protected.

3 Market & Risk

Carbon capture is a new industry and the potential is large. Just in California there is significant demand among large industrial emitters (more than 800 in total) that are subject to regulatory limits on carbon emissions.  In terms of products, we can say that there is potential to make a profit of more than $200 per ton of CO2 captured.

4 Team & Operation

Hago Energetics was established in 2017 with the aim to reduce global CO2 emissions. The company was a semi-finalist in the world-wide contest Carbon X-Prize.  Our core team consists of a chemist, electrical engineer and marketing person with over 100+years experience total in their respective fields.
