CADChain locks down CAD content copyright and serves as a gateway to tokenized CAD asset management via automatic creation and re-usage of secure geometric twins. CADChain facilitates community CAD-asset creation and supply chain interoperability by securing CAD data and irreversibly linking it to its owner. Blockchain and smart contracts are the underlying architecture of the CADChain ecosystem which is accessed via a CAD plugin. This way CADChain wants to achieve interoperability of a CAD-agnostic plugin, that provides real-time IP protection of CAD data, and a GDPR-compliant blockchain protocol, so that it allows for counterfeit prevention and can be legally accepted as evidence of ownership in the court of law. Semantic data modeling is used to create a common federated architecture of the ecosystem and its integration into data economy .
The company aims to introduce new business models onto the market and make co-creation, co-ownership, co-monetization and co-investment possible in the design world thanks to real-time immutable protection of ownership.
CADChain introduces the geometric twin approach, which means that each CAD asset has built-in immutable protection of all of it’s geometric elements and its metadata, that contains the complete history of its creation. It’s the contents of the file that are protected and not the file itself. CAD users get the engineering data that is reusable and modifiable while still proprietary. It means that authorship stays with the authors who can now share their data without worrying about IP infringement and get remuneration every time that any part of their design is used.
In 2021 we will approach the companies that we talked to during Customer Development and that were willing to try our solution so that we can have them as customers in 2022. With almost 40 of them as of now, the number of total SME licenses sold could be as high as 120 (Fig. 22). With an extensive marketing campaign in 2021-2022 we can reach at least 100,000 potential users (20% of the target market for the first year of the Go to Market stage) and gain at least 50,000 of them as active users, with 36,000 (72%) of them using the free license, 4,000 (8%) using the premium license (total of 4,000 licenses sold with an average of 5 employees per company), and 10,000 (20%) users (total of 1,000 SME licenses).
Net profit at the beginning of Q1 2023 is estimated to be at 3,000,000€.
Now we are a team that consists of two members, Violetta Shishkina and Denis Khristolyubov, who have known each other for many years and have worked together before.
CADChain appeared in the beginning of 2018. We tested our idea with different specialists, while working on writing the whitepaper, networking and assembling a team. Afterwards we went to a hackathon in Hong Kong in order to test drive the idea even further. We were told on numerous occasions that it was very creative and we should definitely pursue it.
